2021 Lake Survey Results: A Message from the Board Secretary

Message from Jill Hess, Secretary of the Pleasant Lake Association Board

As Secretary of the Pleasant Lake Association Board, I am responsible for maintaining the Association’s official records. Those records clearly show that the 2021 survey presented a single, community-wide choice: whether to retain or rescind both the Township and DNR towing rules that were in effect at the time. At no point were members asked to vote on individual towing times.

Since then, the DNR has modified its towing rules - now matched with the Township.

Copies of all submitted votes, each signed by the participant are maintained in our records—including the signed vote of the individual circulating information that does not accurately reflect the 2021 survey. The official results showed that over 90 percent of our lake community voted to retain both towing rules in effect at the time.

It is important that we rely on accurate documentation when discussing Pleasant Lake community matters. I appreciate everyone’s attention to detail and commitment to keeping our records and discussions factual.
